Synopsis: CASHMERE
Cashmere a beautiful woman, who seems to have it all, the world comes tumbling down, through a God-ordained encounter, as her lies, past and fears catch up with her.
Cashmere, born Reign Ann Nile, is a beautiful, well-educated, sexy and successful woman. She is a top executive at a media firm, has a wonderful apartment, a successful boyfriend and an adorable dog. On the outside, it seems she has it all. However, while she has all the material trappings, she’s never had inner peace or self-love. The reason for this is that, since she was 19, she has built her life on a shaky foundation of lies and fears that her past will be exposed.
Cashmere’s world starts crumbling one day when she is out at a client meeting at a very expensive and exclusive restaurant. Someone from her past recognizes her. This encounter causes the first domino of lies to fall. Leading to the next domino of her quitting her job, then breaking up with her boyfriend and then finally the blow-up fight with her mom whereby she vows to never have anything to do with her again.
The next day, through a chance encounter with a new mysterious neighbor courtesy of her dog, she starts the healing and rebuilding process. Her neighbor, Cida, is an older spiritualist woman from Brazil. Cida’s invitation to tea begins innocently but ends with Cashmere crumpled in a ball and crying like she has never cried before. Through Cida’s spiritual prowess, she is able to dissect Cashmere to her barest elements.
Cashmere cocoons herself with Cida. Cida and Cashmere build a friendship and pupil-teacher relationship. Cida helps Cashmere lay the new foundation of fearless living and takes her on a spiritual journey to face, confront and defeat the demons that plague her.
